Thank You, Billy Graham (1918 — 2018)
Posted by Ravi Zacharias on February 21, 2018
We have just received word of the passing of probably the most influential of evangelists in modern times: Billy Graham. It is with sadness that we heard of his heavenly journey at age 99. Billy Graham was a man of extraordinary anointing and extraordinary humility. His was demonstrably a long obedience in the same direction. His loss will be felt deeply. I doubt any one person can ever take his place. The famed Charles Wesley once said, “God buries His workmen but carries on His work.”
I had the privilege of meeting Billy Graham for the first time in 1983 and at his invitation spoke at Amsterdam ’83, ’86, and 2000. They were truly one of the highlights of my life.
The inspiring life of this great man should stand as an historic example to maintain that humble heart with an undying zeal to reach people for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will say more in the days following. We at RZIM send our love and heartfelt sympathies to Franklin Graham, Anne Graham Lotz, and the rest of the family.
We will miss Billy Graham deeply. Thank you, Billy, for how you lived and for your impact upon my life and indeed our whole world. We will see you again. Your message was your hope and that hope is now a reality. You wrote about Heaven. You are now there.
